Assessing Community Needs

Assessing community needs is a complex process and varies by location.  Based on conversations with Community Education Councils, District Leadership Teams and other community leaders throughout the past year, the DOE makes preliminary assessments about the need for new schools throughout the City.  We continue to meet with local communities to revise and update the assessment of community educational priorities and determine what types of new schools (if any) are needed in a particular community.
