The Plan for Sustainability In order to continue to be the leader in sustainable education and operation of sustainable facilities, DOE plans to double its annual recycling by 2013, to reduce green house gas emissions by 30% by 2017 from DOE buildings and operations, to provide sustainable curriculum resources to principals and teachers, to participate in citywide plaNYC initiatives and to set up programs to increase water efficiency.
