| KaBOOM! is a national non-profit organization that envisions a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America. Celebrating twelve years of service in 2008, we rally communities to achieve better public policy, funding and public awareness for increased play opportunities nationwide; provide resources, including trainings, challenge grants, and publications for communities that wish to plan a new playspace on their own; and bring together children, business and community interests for a select number of community playspace builds each year. The Fund for Public Schools manages two grant programs to which New York City's public schools can apply: Library REACH (Revitalizing Education for Adolescents and Children) and Arts SPACE (Supporting Performing Arts and Creative Education). These grant programs enable public schools from across New York City to enhance their school libraries and performance facilities. CEP is a national advocate and leader for the character education movement. Based in Washington, D.C., we are a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian coalition of organizations and individuals committed to fostering effective character education in K-12 schools. The Best Buy Teach Award program recognizes creative uses of interactive technology in K-12 classrooms. Winning programs focus on kids using technology to learn standards-based curriculum, rather than on teaching students to use technology or educators using technology that children aren't able to use hands-on. The LEGO Children’s Fund will provide quarterly grants for programs, either in part or in total, with a special interest paid to collaborative efforts and in providing matching funds to leverage new dollars into the receiving organization.
