The mission of the Office of Instructional Technology (OIT) is to provide instructional technology (IT) solutions that lead to student achievement by enhancing the receipt and delivery of instruction.  Working with current principals, teachers and coaches, OIT has developed a range of services that reduce the complexity of delivering IT solutions in the service of instruction and curriculum integration while increasing the level of customization.

OIT employs a five program approach it support its mission:

• iLead - direct support to principals and other instructional leaders
• iCoach - comprehensive professional development and support to coaches
• iTeach - direct support to teachers
• iLearn - direct support to students
• iSite - instructional portal; knowledge management

OIT has established consolidated service centers throughout the five boroughs.  These centers are lead by five Borough Instructional Technology Directors.
