Dear Parents:

Your child is scheduled to take the Comprehensive English Regent’s Examination in June.  Passing this examination is a state requirement for graduation from high school.   The English Department is holding special tutoring sessions on Saturdays for this examination. The schedule is listed below.

The ELA exam will be given at Port Richmond H.S. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, and Thursday, June 19, 2008, both at 9:00 a.m.   Students must be present for both sessions to pass the exam.

Please note that eleventh grade students who do not achieve a score of 65 or higher on the examination will automatically be registered in E7R as their English class for the fall term in order for us to properly prepare them to retake the ELA in January and meet their English graduation requirement.

I strongly urge you to encourage your child to attend tutoring to prepare for success on the exam.  The English Regent’s Examination tutoring schedule is:
