News and Announcements

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year.  PS 127Q strives to keep the community informed on happenings at the school.  Check back often as news and announcements are posted.  In addition, make sure to download a copy of the school calendar to see upcoming events. 

• School will be closed for Spring Break (April 6-April 13).  We wish our students and families a safe and happy vacation!
• Grant Writing Team
  PS 127Q would like to thank those teachers who are participating on our grant writing team. 
• A New Initiative to Combat Bullying
  Here is a hotline number for students who feel they are being bullied.  This number is in addition to the support services provided at the school.  Bullying is a serious issue and we urge ALL students to speak with an adult and report issues of bullying immediately. 
• Upcoming Middle School Events
  Check out our upcoming middle school events for December and January.  More events will be announced in January.
• Our 4th grade students are learning how to appropriately spend and save money thanks to Capital One and BankIt. 
  On November 21st, our 4th grade students will be learning about how to spend and save money wisely.  Volunteers from Capital One will be visiting classrooms to work with our students.  The lessons learned from this day will help our young students and their families better prepare for the future. 
• School Uniform Policy
  PS 127Q is a uniform school.  As such, students are expected to come to school on a daily basis dressed in the school uniform.  Please read over our uniform policy and discuss these expectations with your child.

• First Day of School is September 8th, 2011
  The start of the 2011-2012 school year is Thursday, September 8, 2011.  School begins at 8:00AM for all our students. 
• The Roads to Success Program begins October 11th!
  Roads to Success begins for those students in grades 4-8 who have submitted their completed application.  See Daphne (Program Director) if you have any questions.
