Student Support

Student Support Services

Community Mediation Services provides counseling and social support to students identified as having academic and attendance issues.  This program is located in our school in Room 186B.  Support also provided to families of our students.

Spark Program gives support to students having academic, social and personal problems.  We have two staff members who provide individual and group counseling to our students.   The prevention counselor provides presentations in the classroom on issues that impact the lives of young people.

Tutorial Support will be provided to students as needed.  Students must see their counselor or subject teacher for a copy of the current tutorial schedule.

Health Issues – We have Women’s Health Services located in the school twice a week.  The facilitator will conduct classroom presentations and support services.

College Education   Students will receive information from their counselor about the following information:

 PSAT, SAT, ACT, and SAT II, Subject Tests

College Now courses – York College collaborates with our school in providing our students the opportunity to take college level courses in their junior and senior year.
