Parent Coordinator

Dear Parents:

On behalf of the entire staff of P.S. 51 Queens, I want to welcome you and your family to your child's school.  I hope that your child will have a happy and successful year.  Parents, please remember that you are an important team member, along with the staff and administration, in the education of your child.   We must all work together to help your child reach his/her potential.  You are encouraged and expected to be an active participant in your child’s education. 

Throughout the  year I offer workshops for parents and plan educational trips for students and their families.  I hope you take the opportunity to attend these informative events.  I provide an ESL (English as Second Language) class for adults, as well as Mommy/Daddy & Me classes for parents and their children from 1-3 years of age.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s education.  I can also assist you with information about after school and community programs, health insurance, adult education classes and job preparation training.  I will do my best to help you understand the policies of the school and the NYC Department of Education.  I ask that you do your best to become actively involved in your child's education.  I will support you in your efforts.  I look forward to meeting and working with each of you.  Best wishes for a happy and successful school year!
