5th Grade Trip ~ Adventureland
June 1, 2009

We had fun celebrating all the special holidays with our friends and families in the P.S. 236 cafeteria.

Classes 4-333, 4-334, and 4-332
Children participated in a Pow Wow after learning about Native Americans throughout their 4th Grade Social Studies Curriculum. Children were asked to dress up as Native Americans and participated in traditional tribal games. Children were also able to take part in a feast that replicated the first Thanksgiving.

Class 1-111 celebrates Thanksgiving!
Ms. Katz's Class feast included many of the traditional foods served at the first Thanksgiving celebration: corn, cranberry sauce, cornbread, pumpkin muffins, bread stuffing, pumpkin and pecan pie, mashed potatoes and of course, turkey. We had a great time!

The students and teacher of K-101 have cast their ballots for
President of the United States.
The ballots were counted and the results are...
John McCain 3 votes
Barack Obama 15 votes
(1 hanging chad)

Class 2-223 really enjoyed learning about a style of painting called Pointillism. We studied Seurat's beautiful artwork, and then we created our own pictures using Autumn Trees as our theme. Everyone is welcome to visit our classroom to view and enjoy our creativity!

Class K-103 enjoys pumpkin carving! Happy Halloween!!!
