When you approach the main entrance of Fort Hamilton High School, you cannot help but be inspired by its nostalgic architecture and campus setting amidst the beautiful Bay Ridge neighborhood.  As you enter the building, you experience breathtaking views of the Narrows from a well-maintained, safe educational environment.  When you meet the staff and students of our school, you quickly realize that there is more to the charm and character of this school than meets the eye.

The support staff of our school provides a level of personalized attention usually associated with smaller schools.  Our Parent Coordinator, in conjunction with our Parents Association, keeps the parents of our students informed of new policies and up-to-date on changing policies that affect our school.  The professional staff works collaboratively to provide challenging, diverse and culturally enriching courses that meet the highest standards of excellence.  In addition to the many course offerings, there is a myriad of co-curricular programs that energizes the spirits of our students.  Evenings and weekends are filled with time-honored traditions and activities that showcase our students’ talents.

The most valuable asset that Fort Hamilton High School has is its student population, rich in both culture and pride.  This multicultural setting allows students to interact on a level that fosters respect and helps build life-long friendships.  The school’s active Student Organization works in conjunction with all of the student-run activities to improve all aspects of student life.  The smiling faces that are witnessed everyday in the halls are testimony to the familial feeling you get when you become part of our school community.  When students graduate from their “home away from home,” they are prepared for all that the future has to offer.
