Overview

  Montauk IS 223 is a Magnet school which provides the students with an excellent education. The core curriculum at Montauk is enhanced by the partnerships that were created with the Metropolitan Museum of the Arts, Symphony Space, Pupperty in Practice, American Globe Theatre, The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and Weather Bug Achieve to name a few. Along with these outside agencies IS 223 can assist the students to develop a greater understanding of the Arts, International Diversity and Technology. We have an excellent Champs, Chess in the Classsroom, Preparation for Specailized High School, and Robotics Club.

A very important addition this coming school year 2008-2009 will be the Iteach/Ilearn Program.  Each student in the school will be issued a his/her own laptop to use for instructional purposes during the school day.  The concept is to fully infuse technology accross the curriculum.
