P.S. 108K, The Sal Abbracciamento School, which was built in 1895, is a historical landmark. The principal, administration and staff have high expectations and a clear vision for student goals and achievements. The entire school community engages in the genuine sharing of mutual needs, aspirations and values, which motivates our teachers to work collaboratively to provide a quality standards driven environment. In 2006, we began implementation of the Core Knowledge curriculum. The Core Knowledge sequence is a detailed outline of specific content that is taught in language arts, history, geography, mathematics, science, and the fine arts. As the core of the schools curriculum, it provides a solid, coherent foundation of learning, while allowing flexibility to meet local needs. The sequence is designed to encourage academic progress as children build their knowledge and skills from one year to the next.
We provide our students with a rigorous curriculum through differentiated instruction in all subject areas. This ensures academic success for the entire school community. Through the continuous efforts of our school community, we strive for our students to become life long learners and productive members of society.
