Our Mission

The mission of Public School 22 is to provide a high quality developmentally appropriate, multicultural education for all children. Here at P.S. 22 we believe that ALL CHILDREN CAN LEARN including those with special needs. We work to develop the WHOLE CHILD. Our goal is to prepare our students to make significant contributions towards the advancement of their community and the world. We are committed to working with parents to achieve our mission.

                                     Philosophy ~ Vision

Public School 22, The Children’s International School is a beautiful school located in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York.  P.S. 22 is a dynamic community of excellence where members share a common goal to nurture life long learners. This partnership promotes development and learning by building supportive bonds that draw together children, parents and staff. By providing an array of staff services and a rigorous academic program, we prepare our students to be successful global citizens.

                                                   Mission

The mission of the staff, parents, and community supporters of P. S. 22 is to provide a rich setting for the intellectual, physical, emotional and social growth of all of our students with no child left behind. Through the cooperation of parents, teachers, students and local community,    P.S. 22 offers a learning environment that gives rise to academic achievement, growth in character, and a love of learning.  Our mission at P.S. 22 is to deliver a nurturing environment that teaches by example and encourages mutual respect between educators, administrators, parents, students, and all other members of our learning community. It is our expectation that students reach high achievement levels in language arts, mathematics, history, geography, science, technology, music, art, and physical education. Performance standards are used as a benchmark, not a limitation. Students and the entire P.S. 22 community are expected at all times to show respect for themselves, their classmates, their teachers and their school.  To this end we will use research based strategies, and approaches that address the needs of our students. We will provide a safe and nurturing educational environment which will focus on:
