Question:   What can my child expect from attending MS 126?

Answer:  Your child can expect to receive a progressive education from teachers who are dedicated to providing the finest instruction possible.  Your child will learn how to think critically and how to apply their critical thinking skills to real-life problem solving situations.  Your child will be deeply engaged in a rigorous instructional program that will demand his or her effort and time, so that he or she will meet and exceed learning standards.  Your child will be encouraged to aspire to excellence.

Question:  What if my child has had difficulties with learning in the past?

Answer:  Your child will be given the support needed to be successful.  Our teachers will provide differentiated instruction and individual attention to ensure quality instruction for every student.  Our teachers will also be available to confer with parents, in order to strengthen the bond between the school and the home.

Question:  How will the teachers know what kind of support my child needs?

Answer:  Our teachers will be engaged in professional development throughout the year.  Many professional development sessions will include the study of student work and discussions about students’ progress.  (Students’ names will not be used.)
