Students learn about history and their world through experiential activities, research projects, investigations using primary resources, community walks and family studies.

Our early grades study the Bedford Stuyvesant community by asking questions about their school, homes and neighborhoods.  They also learn about the concept of citizenship.  Upper grade students study city, state and national history— including Native American life in New York and the country’s colonial and Revolutionary periods.  They also learn about the growth of American industry, immigration, cities and government.
