Message from Parent Coordinator (English)

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome! We are very happy to have you and your child join or return to our family of learners. I am looking forward to seeing each one of you personally so that we can build a partnership in support of your child. At the Community School for Social Justice, staff members on our team such as teachers, administrators and support staff are all committed to your child’s academic success. We are looking forward to working together with you to make this a wonderful year of learning and growth for your child.

One of the keys to your child’s success will be your ongoing involvement in our school community. Throughout the year, you will have opportunities to meet your child’s teachers, attend information sessions about the teaching approaches and learning materials that we use, participate in the PTA, and attend the many events we host to celebrate our students’ success. As your child’s first and most important teacher, we need you to help us to know your child better so that we can offer him/her the best learning experience possible.

In addition, I am available to you to provide you with information, answer questions, help you access resources for your child, and help you resolve problems that you or your child may encounter in the school. Please feel free to call me at ext. 2452 when you need my assistance.

Our lead partner, Citizens Advice Bureau can also offer you and your child many resources including: college advisement, tutoring, after school recreation and an array of preventive services such as homelessness prevention, food stamp assistance and other entitlements that may assist you and your family. You can contact them directly at (718) 293-0727 or call me and I will help direct you to CAB staff.

All of us at the Community School for Social Justice are very happy that you and your child are part of our family. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you and your child make this year a successful one.

With best regards,

Alane Sosa
