The Arts

PS 20 is firmly committed to education through the arts.  We have a full-time art teacher and a full-time music teacher, plus several consultants who work for part of the year (architecture, Rosie's Broadway Kids, and American Ballet Theater.)

We have several small projects that occur throughout the year, including occasional visits from our beloved local sculptor Tom Otterness.  He not only graciously donated our beloved mascot Coqui in the playground but spends time inspiring students in class to live up to their "sculpting" potential.

PS 20 is committed to maintaining its high level of arts education throughout the fiscal crisis projected for the years to come.
