At the Division of Teaching and Learning, we are the heart of the matter when it comes to the instruction of the more than 1 million students in New York City’s public schools. In support of a standards-based environment, we develop and deliver high- quality instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students. We are the primary source for educational research, the collection and dissemination of best practices, and the creation of instructional tools that support our schools. Our primary goal is to provide the schools and their School Support Organizations with on-demand instructional and professional development support as determined by the schools and tailored to address their specific needs.
