The New York City School Construction Authority is the single accountable organization to plan, design, construct and report on all capital projects for the Department of Education. The SCA will construct safe, high-quality, cost-effective educational facilities for the children of the City of New York. The SCA will regularly review design standards in order to construct safe, functional, durable and attractive new school buildings while containing costs. The SCA will seek to attract top quality contractors in order to maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, integrity and efficiency. The SCA will apply the same standards of safety, functionality, quality, efficiency and integrity to the rehabilitation and upgrading of existing school facilities.
