Welcome to the Castle Hill Middle School 127 school portal! As you will see by navigating the site, we are a very diverse school that is "on the rise." We got a Well Developed on our School Quality Review this past year and scored an "A" on our School Progress Report (you can read both these reports and others, including the State School Report Card and our Learning Environment Surveys, by clicking on the "Statistics" link on the left). We have made great gains in the past few years, especially in closing the achievement gap for underprivileged and special needs students, which is shown in these measures. This is due to a rigorous, standardized and enriching academic program that focuses on assessing and meeting the unique learning needs of each individual. We offer accelerated learning, including Regents classes in Integrated Algebra and Earth Science, as well as provide extensive Academic Intervention Support and the full range of Mandated Services in Special Education and ESL.
We are organized in Small Learning Communities to further individualize student support: Renaissance, New World, Excellence Through Knowledge (ETK) and Success Through Academic Responsibility (STAR). We are very proud of our Positive Behavior Intervention Support program, ARMOR, and our vibrant extra-curricular Sports and Arts programs. You can learn more more about our Extra-curricular and Academic programs by following the "Overview" link on the left. Be sure to also check under the links above for Parent News, School Events and more on our Small Learning Communities and ARMOR.
Thanks for visiting and check back often!
Sincerely,
Harry Sherman, Principal
