My teacher for fourth and fifth grade, Ms S. Jackson from P.S. 399, was one of the best teachers I have ever had. She taught us things that we would always be able to use in life. One thing that I would never forget is a quote she taught us. It said "Excuses are tools of incompetence, which bring monuments of nothingness, and those who practice excuses are incapable of anything else."
After graduating elementary school, Ms. Jackson would meet us together to see how we were doing and one year when she asked if we remembered the quote we all did. I was able to use that quote in my life and know that I should not make excuses for myself because it would not get me anywhere in life. Ms. Jackson is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. Even though I had her years ago, she still makes an effort to keep us together and on track. She really is a great teacher and most of all a great person.
