Non-resident students are not eligible to attend and may not apply to attend specialized schools, screened/selective schools or programs, gifted and talented programs or pre-Kindergarten programs. Non-residents may not participate in the High School Admissions process, Middle School Choice processes, the Gifted and Talented admissions process or the Pre-Kindergarten Admissions process.

A student cannot take the Specialized High School Admissions Test until he or she becomes a New York City resident. The test is given just before school begins for ninth and tenth graders who are new to the city, so new residents can take the test at that time.

For more information about non-resident enrollment, please review Chancellor’s Regulation A-125.
