During the 2008-09 school year, each school will receive a Quality Review Score of: well developed, proficient, underdeveloped with proficient features, or underdeveloped based on:

  • how well the school generates and uses available information to monitor student performance and progress;
  • how well the school plans and sets goals for accelerating the learning of each student and how effectively it involves parents and the broader community in achieving those goals;
  • how effectively the school uses its academic programs and leadership development to enhance student achievement; and
  • how frequently and effectively the school evaluates its progress toward its goals throughout the year and adjusts and revises its plans as needed to accelerate student learning.

Each of these five categories includes several sub-categories on which the reviews focus. Schools receive an overall score as well as a score for each of the five categories and various subcategories. The overall score is not an average of the five quality statements and sub-criteria scores. Quality Review scores are independent of the grade schools receive on their Progress Report.
