Periodic Assessments

Periodic Assessments are no-stakes assessments that provide regular, timely feedback on students' strengths and weaknesses to help guide instruction and increase student achievement. They provide an early indicator of student performance on State Tests and measure student progress toward success in high school and beyond.

The DOE helps schools learn to use Periodic Assessments effectively through targeted Professional Development.

Program providers offer direct technical support for each assessment tool.

This page contains recent program updates and key documents for all Periodic Assessments. Visit program pages at the links below for specific information about each assessment tool, or the memos page for an archive of assessment memos.
