We are faced with difficult and unusual times right now with some schools closing for a week. We recognize that a break in school at this time may be a challenge for students and parents. Even though school is closed, we suggest that students use this time to continue learning and to study more deeply what they have already learned.

To help students stay on track for success, the NYC Department of Education has developed Learn at Home instructional activities for students in Grades K-12. We have included resources to support the learning of all students including English Language Learners. While not mandatory, we encourage students to use these resources and to document their learning.

The Learn at Home Activities include
  • Suggested daily study schedules
  • Instructional activities
  • Recommended educational television shows and websites for one week of continued at-home learning.
During this crisis, we have also partnered with Aventa Learning, Achieve 3000, and Riverdeep to provide access to a variety of online courses for students. These online resources will allow students to continue their studies in core academic areas for continued at-home learning. Courses will be available 24/7 for the duration of school closures.

If you are unable to access these activities through the Web or would prefer a copy, click here for a list of distribution locations where you can pick-up a hard copy.
