Increased physical activity also makes an excellent opportunity for increased brain activity!  Supplement your physical activity with support for students’ literacy skills by participating in the C.H.A.M.P.S. Book-of-the-Month Club.  Beginning this spring, we’ll introduce a new title each month that is developmentally-appropriate for middle school students and that relates to one or more of the activities in the C.H.A.M.P.S. Middle School Sports & Fitness League.  We’ll also provide you with a discussion guide and suggestions for fun physical activities that support student learning in literacy and in fitness and physical education.  Each month, we’ll feature writing by students who participate in a C.H.A.M.P.S. Activity and the Book-of-the-Month Club.

Participants in the C.H.A.M.P.S. Book-of-the-Month Club will receive copies of that month’s book (along with materials) for student use and for permanent inclusion in their school library.  Additional incentives for student participation are available, too.  To learn more, to suggest a title, or to participate in the C.H.A.M.P.S. Book-of-the-Month Club, contact the central Office of Fitness and Physical Education!
