2007-08 Methodology

For Grades K-9:

 

Data reported by:

·          Grade level

·          Program type

 

Program types:

·          General Education (Gen Ed)

·          Collaborative Team Teaching (CTT)

·          Self-contained Special Educ (Spec Ed), by service level

·          Gifted and Talented (G&T)

 

Methodology:

·          Class size is calculated by dividing the number of students in a program and grade by the number of official classes in that program and grade. 

 

Included:

·          All official classes

 

Excluded:

·          Non-CTT bridge classes

·          General education classes with more than 100 students

·          General education classes with less than 5 students

·          Self-contained classes with less than 2 students

Program types:

Methodology:

·          Class size is calculated by dividing the number of students in a course by the number of official classes in that course, regardless of the grade level of the students enrolled. 

 

Included:

·          Courses where the core class flag is equal to “Y” in the following subjects:

o    English classes  (courses beginning with “E”)

o    Science classes ( beginning with “S”)

o    Math classes (courses beginning with “M”)

o    Social Studies classes (courses beginning with “H”)

 

Excluded:

·          General education classes with more than 100 students

·          General education classes with less than 10 students

·          Self-contained classes with less than 3 students

·          Extended day and extended session classes

·          Course sections scheduled for day 00 and 06
